Some candidates are worried that this latest Duolingo technical updaet will affect their success at DET. I have thoroughly scrutinized the change and want to assure you that it will not influence your test performance by any means. The exception may be those guys who want to cheat DET together with their “assistants” hidden under the table – but again, I don’t understand what may hinder such an aide to crawl into the room after the test itself has begun.
Some unscrupulous candidates resort to a pure old-school method od cheating: their English tutor or a friend is sitting in the room, while the candidate has a micro-speaker in their ear. I don’t know how they actually dictate the letters or wods and how they both see the screen, but they tackle such a minor obstacle. I had a conversation with a young lady who on her own got 50 for DET, while in contrivance with her tutor they got 120! the problem is: even if the girl is enrolled to the University, how is she going to study? Hundreds of pages of textbooks along with in-class discussions – and she can barely utter a normal sentence! I don’t understand what such guys are hoping for.
If you are an honest candidate, then don’t even think of this recent change – the DET application will guide you through the scan process, and you will peacefully proceed to the test.
