The Duolingo test team are going to please us with a helpful innovation. They release innovations each year, this 2024 being not an exception. So, starting with the 1st of July, 2024, all candidates will get not only the overall score and four integrated subscores for Comprehension, Literacy, Conversation and Production, but also four Individual Subscores for good old Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing! Thus, you will have one overall and eight(!) subscores!
Why did they decide to do so? I think, colleges and candidates have been politely requesting from them to implement this change for several years. Those four integrated subscores are not so clear for many candidates (and for colleges as well). Now, everything will be crystal clear: You have 125 for Speaking, 105 for Writing, 130 for Reading and, for instance, 120 for Listening – like with IELTS and TOEFL. So, your target college will feel comfortable seeing your real comprehensible subscores, while you will benefit from understanding your actual language skills.
